Zelensky: Lack of exports from Ukraine will hit countries around the world

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an unexpected video message during a forum in Doha in Qatar, reports the Associated Press.

In Saturday’s video message, Zelenskiy criticized Russia’s ongoing war against his country.

He called on the UN and world powers to come to his aid and compared Russia’s destruction of the port city of Mariupol to Syria’s and Russia’s destruction of the city of Aleppo during the Syrian war.

“They are destroying our ports. The lack of exports from Ukraine will hit countries around the world,” Zelensky said.

He urged the countries participating in the Doha forum to increase energy exports, which is especially important since Qatar is the world leader in natural gas exports.

Zelenskiy criticized Russia for what he called a threat to the world with its nuclear weapons:

“Russia demonstrates deliberate boasting that it can destroy not only a certain country, but the entire planet with nuclear weapons,” the Ukrainian president of the BNR quotes.

He also noted that the Muslims of Ukraine will have to fight for their country on the upcoming holy day of Ramadan: “We must make sure that this holy month of Ramadan is not overshadowed by the suffering of the people of Ukraine.”
