The elimination of the last Ukrainian troops stuck in the besieged port of Mariupol will put an end to talks with Moscow, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday.
The liquidation of our troops, our people (in Mariupol) will put an end to any negotiations “between Ukraine and Russia,” Zelensky said in an interview with the Ukrainian Pravda news site.
“It will be a dead end because we are not negotiating for our territories or our people.”
Earlier today, DNR leader Denis Pushili said that Ukrainian troops who refuse to surrender in Mariupol will be eliminated.
The strategic port of Mariupol has been among the worst affected since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
