President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has called on people around the world to protest against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, AFP reports.
“Come out in Ukrainian symbols to defend Ukraine, to defend freedom, to protect life!” Said Zelensky. “Gather in the squares, in the streets, go outside so that your voice can be heard,” he added.
“Express your opinion, protest from your offices, from your homes, from your schools and universities, protest for peace!” he emphasized. “The world must stop the war,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president’s message came a few hours before three consecutive summits in Brussels – NATO, the G7 and the EU – on the war in Ukraine. Zelensky will speak at them via video conference. He has already called on NATO to supply weapons to his country.
“Clean our land from the occupiers and restore peace in Ukraine,” he said.
