The United States is ready to take diplomatic steps that the Ukrainian government considers useful, the US State Department said after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the West should be more involved in talks to end the war, according to Reuters.
“If we can take diplomatic steps that the Ukrainian government deems useful, we are ready to do so,” a State Department spokesman said.
We are working to put Ukrainians in the strongest possible position in the negotiations, including by increasing pressure on Russia by imposing tough sanctions against it, as well as by providing security assistance to Ukrainians so that they can defend themselves,” he added.
