The Charities Aid Foundation has released a ranking of the most generous countries in the world. The criteria were the level of assistance to strangers, the number of donations, and the number of volunteers.
Indonesia topped the ranking for the fifth year in a row. The number of donations is the largest here: 84% of the country’s inhabitants donate funds to charitable organizations, and religious philanthropy is also strong here. People of different ages donate money, but young people prefer to do it through online platforms. In second place is Kenya, and in third is the United States, in both countries, they actively help strangers.
The top ten also include Australia, New Zealand, Myanmar, Sierra Leone, Canada, Zambia, and Ukraine.
The least actively involved in charity work in Cambodia, Japan, and Afghanistan: these states took the last lines in the ranking.
