On Sunday evening, the media reported on the sounds of explosions in the western cities of the country: Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne and Kolomyia.
The Ukrainian Pravda website writes that the eruption in Ternopil was heard for the first time since February 24, when the Russian invasion began. He reports that there are also reports of sounds similar to explosions in Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne and Kolomyia.
In turn, the correspondent of the Ukraine 24 TV channel reports an outbreak in the Ternopil region.
Also, Reuters, citing eyewitness testimony, reported that a series of explosions sounded late Sunday evening in the port city of Odessa in southern Ukraine.
Local media reported on Sunday night that a series of explosions had also been heard in the Russian-occupied port city of Kherson in southern Ukraine.
There is no official information about the attack yet.
“It is necessary to tighten sanctions against Moscow”
On Sunday, Ukrainian authorities and journalists also released shocking photos and videos of Kyiv suburbs from which Russian troops had been driven out. The films show the vast destruction and numerous bodies of the victims lying in the streets, unarmed and in civilian clothes.
The crimes in Bucha have been condemned by the European Union. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen wrote on social media that she was horrified by reports of these unimaginable atrocities. In turn, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, called it a massacre and announced further EU sanctions against Russia.
The crimes committed were also condemned by German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht. According to her, such crimes cannot be left without an appropriate response. She argued that it is necessary to tighten sanctions against Moscow. She stated that EU ministers should discuss the issue of banning gas imports from Russia.
