The air fleet of Ukraine is gaining strength. CNN: Deliveries of spare parts allowed the launch of several dozen aircraft

According to CNN, there are now more aircraft in the Ukrainian armed forces than three weeks ago, and the supply of spare parts for them has allowed twenty more aircraft to enter service.

CNN refers to information received from an anonymous representative of the US Department of Defense. According to him, the United States and other countries “worked together to ensure that Ukraine received the parts it needed to strengthen its fleet.” The Pentagon spokesman did not disclose from which country the aid for the Ukrainian Air Force came.

So far, no country has confirmed its participation in the transfer of spare parts for Ukrainian aircraft. The readiness to hand over the planes – MIG29 was expressed by Slovakia. Romania does not exclude the transfer of its MiG21 LancerR. Poland was ready to transfer the MIG-29 through NATO already in the first weeks of the war. In addition to Europe, the source of aircraft used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine may be Egypt, which has 46 MiG-29s.

Ukrainian military aviation to help

We confirm that, as part of allied military assistance, Ukraine received parts and components for aircraft, but not complete aircraft, the Ukrainian military aviation command said on Wednesday, citing a statement by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby on Tuesday.

“Spare parts and components will be used for the overhaul of our air fleet. We received this support thanks to cooperation with the US government,” the military aviation press service reported in the Ukrainska Pravda online newspaper.

On Tuesday, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said Ukraine had received “aircraft and parts for its aircraft” from other countries. He noted that the United States helped transport parts, but did not transfer the entire aircraft. A day later, he apologized for his mistake. – I made a mistake when I said in the past tense that they (Ukrainians) received entire planes. I regret this mistake,” Kirby told reporters. A Pentagon spokesman explained that he mistakenly believed that “another country has made (Ukraine) an offer.” He added that in fact Ukraine received spare parts for aircraft.
