Ukraine nationalizes Russian assets on its territory. He is also counting on military compensation from Russian assets frozen in the west. According to the head of the Ukrainian government Denis Shmyhal, his country is losing billions of dollars every day in connection with the hostilities.
Prime Minister Denys Shmygal pointed out that in the conditions of war, funds from the Ukrainian budget are directed almost exclusively to the needs of the army and the payment of social benefits. He stressed that Ukraine pays 2 billion hryvnias from the budget, or about 68 million dollars, from the budget for activities related to the conduct of the war. However, there are also macroeconomic losses, estimated at about $4 billion a day.
– This is how much a day of war costs in terms of the destruction of our infrastructure, the loss of economic potential, the loss of future GDP. We also count direct losses. For example, the Russians are destroying a bridge. We can calculate its value. And to say the bridge cost, say, $100 billion,” Shmyhal said.
