Russia’s Foreign Ministry has allegedly called the Ukrainian government’s statement that the Russian Air Force bombed a theater in Mariupol a lie, and said the truth would be known, according to Reuters.
“The regime in Kyiv immediately tried to accuse the Russian army of dropping a bomb on the theater,” ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing.
“Of course, this is a lie. It is well known that the Russian armed forces are not bombing the city. No matter how many videos have been fabricated by NATO structures, no matter how many photo fakes, it will come out,” she said.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Russian troops bombed the theater, which housed hundreds of civilians. Kyiv has accused Moscow of war crimes.
Russia’s Defense Ministry has rejected Ukraine’s allegations and accused the Azov Ukrainian Nationalist Battalion of blowing up the building after holding it hostage and using the upper floors to fire on Russian troops.
