Russia has almost completed preparations for a new offensive in eastern Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said, according to DPA.
In his daily briefing, he noted that the Russian army is trying to “pick up weaknesses” in Ukraine’s lines of defense through individual attacks. To this end, they made night raids on the cities of Donbass.
“The enemy is making major efforts in the area of the settlements of Lyman, Kreminna, Popasna and Rubizhne, in addition, he is trying to establish full control over Mariupol,” – summed up in the Ukrainian General Staff. He also noted that the Russian army is trying to establish a bridgehead north of the large city of Severodonetsk in the Luhansk region, which is under Ukrainian control.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, all Russian attacks were repulsed, BTA reports.
