Adviser to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated that Russian air strikes on the Azovstal metallurgical plant in Mariupol have resumed, Reuters reports.
“The enemy is trying to suppress the last resistance of the defenders of Mariupol in the Azovstal region,” Oleksiy Arestovych said on national television.
Two days ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the cancellation of a planned assault on the plant and the encirclement of Ukrainian troops stationed there.
At the same time, the governor of Luhansk region Serhiy Haidai stated that all cities controlled by Ukraine in the east of the region are under constant Russian fire, which is intensifying.
