Powerful explosions were heard tonight in different parts of Ukraine – in the cities of Lviv and Dnipro, as well as in Kyiv and Kirovgrad regions, UNIAN reports.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy confirmed that explosions had taken place in western Ukraine and urged locals to stay in storage. He then reported a power outage in some places.
“According to preliminary information, missile strikes were inflicted on the Lviv region,” said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv regional military administration. He also urged people to stay in storage.
Locals reported five explosions.
According to eyewitnesses, at least three explosions took place in the eastern city of Dnipro.
Reports of explosions on the right bank of the Dnieper in Kyiv region have appeared on social networks.
A Russian missile crashed in the Kirovgrad region, central Ukraine, a local official said.
There were reports on social networks that the rocket flew over the western part of the Ternopil region.
Two rockets were shot down over the city of Vinnytsia, 200 kilometers southwest of Kyiv, said Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
A number of trains in Ukraine will run late due to Russia’s shelling of stations, the national railway company said.
