World and Olympic boxing champion Volodymyr Klychko has joined the Kyiv Territorial Defense Brigade. This was announced by his brother and the mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitaliy Klitschko. This comes amid rising tensions between Russia-NATO-the United States and Ukraine.
From January 1, 2022, on the basis of the law “On the foundations of popular resistance” Territorial Defense Forces are already part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The law stipulates that they operate on a territorial basis and outside the areas where hostilities are taking place. These forces include both regular soldiers and reservists who will receive a monetary reward.
Territorial defense brigades may include citizens between the ages of 18 and 60, regardless of gender or lack of military experience.
