In a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin today, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed the proposal to bring the Istanbul process to the level of leadership, the Turkish state language company TRT Haber reported.
According to a statement from the Presidential Communications Department of Turkey, the talks focused on the latest developments in the Russian-Ukrainian war and relations between Turkey and Russia.
Erdogan noted that in order to pave the way for peace, it would be useful for everyone to continue the positive dynamics achieved during the talks in Istanbul.
The President of Turkey stressed the importance of ensuring a ceasefire, the effective functioning of humanitarian corridors and the implementation of a safe evacuation. He noted that Ankara will continue to do everything possible to stop the events that harm everyone and establish a lasting peace.
