An American citizen died as a result of the Russian attack in Ukraine. Jimmy Hill was killed in the northern city of Chernihiv, reports AP.
The information about the American’s death was spread by his sister. She learned of her brother’s death on Thursday, March 17.
“My brother Jimmy Hill was killed yesterday in Chernihiv, Ukraine. He was standing in line for bread with several other people when they were shot by Russian military snipers,” Cheryl Hill Gordon wrote on Facebook. “His body was found on the street by local police,” she added.
According to information, Jimmy was in Chernihiv, where he sought medical help for his partner.
On Wednesday, it became known that ten people standing in line for bread were killed in the Russian shelling, AFP reported, citing a statement from the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office.
“At 10 am (20:00 GMT) The Russian military opened fire on people standing in line for bread near a grocery store in a residential area of Chernihiv. According to initial data, 10 civilians were killed,” the statement said.
