A young foreign tourist who traveled abroad for the first time died four days after undergoing weight loss surgery in Turkey. She left the republic but did not return home. The Sun portal reported on this tragic incident.
It is known that a 20-year-old British woman went to the Republic of Turkey as part of medical tourism. The girl wanted to get rid of extra pounds with the help of surgeons. Since Turkish clinics offer lower prices for such procedures, it was decided to go to Turkey. The cost of the operation to remove part of the stomach was about 3,200 US dollars.
The operation was successful. Within three days, Morgan Maria Ribeiro Morgan received permission to leave the clinic. During the flight, her condition worsened, and the plane made an emergency landing in Belgrade. “The flight attendant gave her some ice and water, and she started having trouble breathing, so they took her to the front of the plane, where there was more space,” said the British woman’s companion. Serbian doctors diagnosed septic shock, pointing out that the small intestine had been cut during gastric bypass surgery, which had caused the infection. Unfortunately, doctors could not save the girl, she died.
The Morgan family is now raising money to fly the body of the “beauty victim” to the UK and arrange a funeral. According to the grieving mother, she learned about her daughter’s plans to go under the knife only when she boarded a flight to Turkey.
