Entry mode: Visa
There are three main categories of visas in Kuwait: entry – exit, transit, and resident.
An entry-exit (visit) visa can be obtained at the Consular Section of the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Ukraine upon invitation from a Kuwaiti individual or legal entity acting as a sponsor. In addition to the visa attached to the passport, the foreigner receives two copies of the entry permit at the Embassy. He left one of the copies during the immigration control at the airport in Kuwait, and the second – when leaving the country. As a rule, such a visa is valid for entry for one month for a period of stay in the emirate for up to thirty days and can be extended for a maximum of ninety days. A visa can also be obtained by a sponsor in Kuwait, the General Immigration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and faxed to the person invited. The sponsor must hand over the original of this visa to the passport and visa service at the Kuwaiti border crossing point, where it will be presented to the foreigner upon arrival in the emirate. Entry-exit can also be arranged as a tourist. In this case, the sponsor is a Kuwaiti hotel, which issues a visa through the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Emirate after booking a hotel room. Its cost is included in the price for accommodation.
A transit visa for a stay of up to 7 days can be obtained at the Kuwaiti Consulate Abroad or at the Kuwaiti Port Authority with a valid visa to the country of destination and duly executed tickets. Multiple transit visas are issued to drivers of international traffic.
Residential visas, which are a residence permit in the State of Kuwait, are divided into several types:
for foreigners working in the public sector;
in the private sector;
for dependent family members;
for domestic workers (servants, private drivers, gardeners, etc.).
Resident visas are issued for a period of six months to 5 years, but may not exceed a stay in Kuwait for 7 years, except for skilled labor for up to 10 years.
