Many Turkish hotels have decided not to open for May holidays

Hotels in the resort provinces of Turkey, primarily Antalya, decide to postpone the opening date to a later period. Many of the facilities will not open on the May holidays.

According to the Turkish publication Dünya, most of the hotels that normally open from April 1 have moved the start of work to the end of May or even the beginning of June.

According to the President of the Association of Kemer Hoteliers (KETOB) Dincer Sarikayi, hoteliers are under serious pressure due to the uncertainty due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the related restrictions on Russian charter flights.

He also noted that 65 five-star and 350 four-star hotels with a capacity of at least 120,000 people operate in the Kemer region. Currently, only 15 hotels operate in the area. In particular, hotels operating on exclusive contracts with Russian operators, or are under their control, do not start working.

Also a small number of hotels are open in Side. According to various sources, no more than 25% of the objects have started work.
