Hurghada hotels raised prices by 25%

From 2,700 to 10,000 hryvnias in Egyptian pounds – this price range is offered by hotels in Hurghada, Egypt during the holiday weekend Eid al-Fitr (Turkic version – Eid al-Fitr), which believers will celebrate in May 2022 in 2022. This is about 25% higher than on normal days.

A number of resorts in El Gouna, Sahl Hashish and Makadi have announced that during the celebration of the Islamic-Arab holiday, they are working at full capacity and hotels are loaded to the maximum, despite the jump in prices. According to the local newspaper Al Masri al-Yum, hotels and resorts generally compete to attract the largest number of holidaymakers, most of whom are Egyptians. Domestic tourists are needed by hotels to partially compensate for the sharp decline in foreign and domestic tourism in recent months, which has led to a decline in the number of Ukrainian and Russian travelers. At the same time, hoteliers decided to accept children under 12 for free to attract the largest number of Egyptians.

Prices for double rooms in five-star hotels are fixed at around 10’200 hryvnias for all-inclusive accommodation and 13’500 hryvnias for family rooms in hotels in Abu Musum-Makadi, Sahl-Hashish and El- Guna, which attract wealthy tourists and celebrities. Increased demand for these facilities is still observed only by Egyptians, and not the main markets, which until recently were Ukrainians and Russians, told the newspaper the administrator of one of the hotels.

Reference: Eid al-Fitr (Eid al-Fitr among the Turkic peoples) is one of the most important religious holidays, following the end of the holy month of Ramadan. It is recommended to celebrate this day at home and spend the evening with the family. The word “fitr”, which translates as “end” or “breakthrough” means the end of fasting. On this day, Muslims forget the former insults, forgiving each other, and celebrate Eid al-Fitr at a table full of sweets and other delicious dishes.
