Hungary’s largest Danubius Hotel Hungaria will close for the winter due to high heating and electricity prices. This was stated by the management of Danubius Hotels Group.
Thus, the hotel with 499 rooms will not receive visitors from November 1, 2022, to February 28, 2023. Guests booked during this period will be redirected to other chain hotels in Budapest.
Earlier, due to the energy crisis, the only cave bath in Hungary in the city of Miskolc was forced to close, and the company that manages the baths in Budapest raised prices by 15% and plans to reduce opening hours, as well as limit the provision of several services.
