The giant hotel in Egypt was opened by the two largest hotel groups – Accor and Rixos. According to the Egyptian press, the Accor group, one of the world’s largest chain hotel groups, continues to open new resort hotels under the umbrella of the “All Inclusive Collection” designed to manage resort hotels. It includes Rixos Hotels.
“In this context, the company is preparing to open its first Swissotel luxury hotel in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh,” the media reports. The giant 1,350-room hotel, which previously operated under a different name, has been renovated and transformed into Swissotel.
As the sources add, the facility, which will be put into operation in stages, will initially have 590 rooms available to tourists. The remaining portion will be commissioned as the transformation is completed.
The 164-room part of the first phase of the facility will be a hotel for adults, and the 426-room part will be a family hotel. “Rixos, a successful brand in the field of management of all-inclusive resort hotels, will manage Swissotel Sharm El Sheikh,” the media reports.
Details about the hotel: it will start accepting the first tourists on January 6. Including 12 water parks with slides, 14 swimming pools, and 9 restaurants, one of which is main, and 8 are A la Carte. When the entire hotel is operational, the 816-room part will operate as a hotel for adults and the remaining part as a family hotel.
It should be noted that Rixos began expanding to Egypt in 2019 with plans to open 3 hotels. So, on March 15, 2021, the first luxury hotel of the famous Turkish hotel group Rixos – Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas – opened in Hurghada. The plans of this “high-class” Turkish hotel brand also include significant development in Egypt: in addition to the already existing 4 hotels, these are Rixos Sharm El Sheikh Adult Friendly (in Sharm el-Sheikh), Rixos Premium Seagate (in Sharm el-Sheikh), Rixos Alamein (in the El Alamein resort on the Mediterranean Sea in the Nile Delta), and the Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas itself (located in Hurghada, 7 km from the airport and the newest of all Rixos in Egypt).
We will remind you that another Turkish luxury brand – the international hotel chain Oti Hotels & Resorts, which is part of OTİ Holding – also started expanding into Egypt a few years ago, which planned a hotel under the Xanadu brand in one of the most luxurious areas of the Hurghada resort – Makadi Bay.
