Vacation in Turkey turned into hell: 25 tourists were poisoned at once in a 5-star hotel

Another case of mass poisoning of foreign tourists happened the other day in a famous five-star hotel in Turkey. 25 vacationers complained about feeling sick, poisoned, and having a spoiled vacation that turned into hell, and one was hospitalized. The Daily Star reported on the incident.

An outbreak of food poisoning occurred at the Rixos Sungate, a luxury hotel popular with foreign tourists, in the Mediterranean village of Kemer, where guests were on an all-inclusive holiday. It offers 13 restaurants, including a buffet table with international cuisine and a sushi bar.

It is known that the British came to rest from the tour operator TUI. Each affected family paid an average of $5,000 for the trip. Reports reported by the newspaper stated that “more than 10 families” were poisoned and “their number is increasing every day.”

One of the victims, Kate Dowling, published her story on her page on the social network: “My family is at Rixos Sungate – three out of five have food poisoning, and one is hospitalized. The staff does nothing to help, denying everything they know, even though other guests have also complained.” Probably, poisoned tourists publicized the incident to demand compensation for what happened.

Tour operator TUI is aware of the outbreak and commented on the outbreak: “We are concerned by the news of a small number of cases at Rixos Sungate. Our team offers in-hotel support where needed.”

It should be noted that the VIP hotel with a water park and 12 pools is intended for family recreation and does not appear in the news about poisoning. Rixos Sungate has a top rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on Tripadvisor reviews.
