The European Union has banned the export of champagne, luxury cars, fashion clothing, expensive electronics and sports equipment to Russia as part of a new round of sanctions against Moscow over the war in Ukraine.
The list of items was published in the Official Journal of the European Union, which announces the legal decisions of the 27 bloc countries.

The union has repeatedly continued sanctions against Russia’s business and media elites, as well as a number of defense companies. The statement confirmed that the sanctions were aimed at “key oligarchs, lobbyists and propagandists who promote the Kremlin’s version of the situation in Ukraine, as well as key companies in the aviation, military and dual-use, shipbuilding and engineering sectors.”
The EU has also recently agreed to deprive Russia of its WTO status, which will “end the significant benefits that Russia enjoys as a member of the WTO”, such as lower tariffs. The process of Belarus’ accession to the WTO will also be suspended due to “material support provided by the country to the actions of the Russian Federation.”
We will remind, earlier we wrote that published the list of the companies which still work in the territory of the Russian Federation.
