On Sunday, China’s ambassador to the US, Qin Gang, denied accusations that China was providing military assistance to Russia and said Beijing would “do everything possible to de-escalate the crisis.”
In an interview with CBS News, he said that China “sends food, medicine, sleeping bags and baby supplies, not weapons and ammunition, to any country in conflict, and we are against war.”
He added that China has “normal trade, economic, financial, energy cooperation” with Russia and that condemning Russia’s war in Ukraine “is not a response.”
“We need good diplomacy based on vision, wisdom and courage,” he told CBS News, quoted by BNR.
