As it became known, Rosatom tested a new route for the export of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) from the Bulgarian Kozloduy NPP by sea, bypassing Ukraine.
As part of the development of alternative routes in 2020 in cooperation with the Russian FSB border service, the Navy carried out a pilot export of spent fuel from Bulgaria (Kozloduy NPP) through the port of the Caucasus, – reports RIA Novosti with reference to the annual report Rosatom.
As one of the experts explained, Russia fears attacks by nationalist gangs on the territory of Ukraine on transport in order to seize spent nuclear fuel and then blackmail the world community by using it for military purposes.
