The US government has announced a new round of export restrictions on Russia and Belarus, according to Reuters.
The United States has expanded its list of organizations that are effectively barred from accessing vital technologies to include 120 organizations, mostly affiliated with military companies.
The US Department of Commerce said the move was aimed at “weakening Russia’s and Belarus’ defense, aerospace, maritime and other strategic sectors in response to Russia’s brutal attack on Ukraine’s sovereignty.”
According to the US government, such measures will help prevent technology and software from entering the military sectors of Russia and Belarus.
The US Department of Commerce has added 260 organizations to the list due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
