In today’s telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko expressed support for Russia’s actions in Ukraine, the Kremlin’s press service reports citing TASS.
Karlik and Bulbash discussed “the course of the Russian special military operation to protect the civilian population in Donbas”, that is, a full-scale war against the civilian Ukrainian population. Vladimir Putin stressed that the tasks of the planned operation are being solved and will be fully implemented. The President of Belarus expressed support for Russia’s actions, the statement said.
Putin and Lukashenko also discussed “some issues related to yesterday’s second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine in Belarus.” The Kremlin added that the parties agreed to continue contacts with each other.
The Belarusian armed forces are not and will not participate in the Russian military operation in Ukraine, Lukashenka said, Reuters reports.
He added that he had a long telephone conversation with Putin, BTA reports.
