From June 11, 2017, citizens of Ukraine do not need a visa to enter the Schengen countries if they are holders of biometric passports and if they plan to stay in the Schengen country for no more than 90 days in six months and if their stay in this country is not involves employment.
WARNING !!! From 01.10.2017 for seasonal workers from Ukraine EVEN WITH A BIOMETRIC PASSPORT VISA IS NECESSARY AGAIN !!!
Depending on the period of stay in accordance with the work permit, it is necessary (as before 11.06.2017) to apply for a C’Saisonier ’or D‘ Saisonier ’visa.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that those applicants who will have the opportunity to use the visa-free regime will not be able to obtain a visa, even if they wish. Visa applications from such applicants will not be processed.
Staying more than 90 days or working requires a visa or residence permit.
For citizens of Ukraine who do not have a biometric passport, as well as for foreigners, a visa is still required. The procedure for obtaining a visa remains unchanged and will be explained on this page below.
We strongly warn against the services of agencies that require large sums for visa consultations, as their services are often linked to illegal activities. If such illegal actions are detected, the applicant may be denied a visa by the Austrian embassy or other embassies within the Schengen area.
Online dating: We strongly warn you not to send money transfers to unknown people (especially women you met online). Any claim that a large amount of money is required to obtain a visa is untrue. If in doubt, contact our consular section.
Submission of documents for a visa is possible only in a personal interview.
The dates for personal interviews at the Embassy are limited. If you do not find a suitable deadline for submitting documents at the Embassy, please submit your documents to the VFS Global visa centers.
The visa cannot, in principle, be changed or extended in Austria. The consular fee is paid in cash in euros upon submission of documents and is non-refundable in case of refusal to issue a visa.
Please note that for reasons of data protection, information on the visa procedure can only be provided to the applicant in person. Thank you for your understanding!
Duration of processing documents, consular fee and visa categories
The embassy wants to draw attention to the fact that a Schengen visa for Ukrainian citizens costs 35 euros. Visa D costs:
persons from 6 years 150 euros
children under 6 years 75 euros
Consular fee means a fee for processing documents, which is paid upon submission of documents and in case of refusal is not refundable.
The processing of documents for a visa or residence permit in Austria is carried out only after payment of the consular fee.
Processing of documents for a visa usually takes 5 working days (Example: documents are submitted on Monday, the decision on the visa next Monday. If this period is a Ukrainian or Austrian holiday, the duration of processing is extended accordingly).
Processing of documents for a visa valid for more than a year lasts 2 weeks (Example: documents are submitted on Monday, the decision to issue a visa in 2 weeks).
No other funds are paid!
