From September 1, 2022, a number of visa changes come into force in the United Arab Emirates. Thus, the visa reform, announced back in April, offers travelers new types of entry documents that allow them to visit the UAE without the invitation of a sponsor or host.
New types of entry permits will make life easier for many foreigners, including job seekers, students, and tourists. Thus, the standard validity of tourist visas will be extended from 30 to 60 days. In addition, they will begin issuing five-year multi-visa tourist – they will allow foreigners to stay in the UAE for 180 days a year or 90 days in a row.
Graduates of the top 500 universities in the world and a number of qualified professionals will be able to apply for entry visas for job search purposes. Investors and entrepreneurs will have access to a new type of business visa – entry permits that do not require a confirmation from the sponsor or the host.
Relatives or friends residing in the UAE will also be able to process visas for their guests arriving from abroad. Students will be able to issue permits for study and further education – for example, if they arrive in the UAE for an internship. To issue such a document, you will need a letter from the host.
Another new type of entry permit is for temporary workers: designed for those who arrive in the UAE for project work or temporary work contracts. To complete this document, you will need a letter from the employer explaining the purpose of the stay.
