Five EU countries may introduce a ban on issuing visas to Russians

Five EU countries – the Baltic countries, Poland and Finland – may introduce a regional ban on issuing visas to Russians if there is no common decision at the EU level. This was stated by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis.

According to him, “a European solution would be the most stable, legally the most correct”, but if it does not exist, then the possibility of finding a regional solution is not ruled out.

Earlier, the Latvian Parliament called on the EU countries to stop issuing visas to citizens of Russia and Belarus, and Estonia closed the border for Russian citizens with Estonian Schengen visas on August 18.
