The authorities of Belarus have decided to extend until the end of this year the visa-free regime for residents of Lithuania and Latvia making short-term trips.
According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the decision was made “taking into account the positive feedback and numerous wishes of foreign citizens.” Minsk is confident that this step will enable citizens of neighboring countries to get an objective idea of modern Belarus, its politics and economy, and get to know the culture of the people better.
Recall that earlier Belarus introduced visa-free entry for residents of Lithuania and Latvia for the period from April 15 to May 15. During this time, over 18,000 people used it, which indicates the presence of “significant interest among foreign citizens in Belarus.”
