The head of the European branch of the World Health Organization, Hans Kluge, said that the WHO is preparing for possible “chemical attacks” in Ukraine, according to Reuters.
“Given the uncertainty of the current situation, there is no guarantee that the war will not intensify,” Kluge said in a statement to the press from the Ukrainian city of Lviv.
The UN Health Agency is discussing all scenarios and preparing for various situations in which the Ukrainian people may find themselves, “from treating a large number of wounded to chemical attacks,” he said, without elaborating.
