The Government of the United Arab Emirates has announced the lifting of all restrictions and precautions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new rules will come into effect from 06:00 on November 7, 2022.
In particular, the mask regime in mosques is completely suspended – wearing masks will remain mandatory only in medical institutions and organizations for people with special needs. It will be possible to use common rugs in mosques.
Currently, the number of detected cases of COVID-19 infection is below 300 per day and continues to decline. Visiting public and government institutions will no longer require a green pass on the Al Hosn mobile app.
The application can be used as needed to confirm vaccination and PCR testing, including abroad. However, the five-day self-isolation period for those infected with coronavirus remains in effect. Testing centers for COVID-19 will also continue to operate.
It is noted that the organizers of events, including sports, if necessary, will be able to request vaccination certificates. Recall that from September 28, 2022, the mask regime on the premises was canceled in the UAE.
Continued compliance was recommended for people with chronic illnesses or symptoms of COVID-19. Those who had close contact with those infected with coronavirus were advised to take PCR tests if they have symptoms.
