Dubai ranked first in the TikTok Travel Index 2022, which recognized it as the most popular travel destination in the world. Thus, videos mentioning the emirate have become more popular than those that mention New York and London.
Videos with the hashtag #Dubai scored 81.8 billion views, with the hashtag #NewYork – 59.5 billion views, and the UK capital has collected 36.8 billion views on the youth social network.
Dubai has become synonymous with opulence and luxury, and is one of the most popular destinations for holidaymakers looking to soak up the sun, according to the study. The ultra-modern city is home to a collection of architectural marvels, including the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.
In total, 140 cities in the world took part in the study, and 50 of them were included in the final list. Along with Dubai, Istanbul, Paris, Miami, Los Angeles, and Chicago made it into the top ten.
