Which countries have made it easier for tourists to enter

By the beginning of the summer, several more countries had taken the easing anti-COVID measures. Dip.org.ua provides up-to-date information in eight directions.

Turkey

Turkey has lifted the latest coronavirus restrictions. From 1 June, tourists are no longer required to present negative PCR or rapid antigen test results to enter Turkey. The country also abolished the wearing of masks in public places, except in medical facilities. As Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca noted on his Twitter, this decision was influenced by the decline in the number of infections per day.

Thailand

The Thai authorities have lifted the quarantine for all tourists arriving in the country, regardless of vaccination status. Vaccinated travelers are required to enter, in addition to a passport, a vaccination certificate, and medical insurance covering $10,000. As for unvaccinated or partially vaccinated foreigners, instead of a certificate, they must provide a negative antigen test result from a medical institution or a PCR test made 72 hours before departure to the kingdom.

Germany

Most of the covid restrictions have been lifted to enter the country. Now you do not need to present a certificate of vaccination, a certificate of transferred COVID-19, or a negative coronavirus test. According to the decision of the government, concessions will be valid from June 1 to August 31. The authorities do not rule out that anti-COVID measures may be introduced again in the fall if a new wave of the pandemic begins.

Italy

In Italy, from June 1, all current covid restrictions on an entry will be canceled. Tourists need only a passport and a Schengen visa to enter the country. Since May 1, the mask regime has already been canceled in bars, restaurants, and stadiums. From June 15, protective equipment may not be worn in cinemas, theaters, and private events. Wearing masks on public transport is still under discussion.

Cyprus

From 1 June, tourists arriving in Cyprus will no longer be required to present a certificate of vaccination or PCR test or the result of a rapid antigen test. It is specified that quarantine restrictions have been lifted for those arriving in the country both by plane and from the country’s seaports. Thus, the authorities returned to pre-pandemic entry rules.

Philippines

As of May 30, fully vaccinated Filipinos and foreigners entering the country are not required to present a negative PCR test result. Fully vaccinated individuals are considered to be over 18 years of age who, in addition to the full vaccination cycle, have received at least one booster. They are equated to adolescents from 12 to 17 years old who received at least two doses of the vaccine, that is, they completed the full cycle.

Children under 12 who are accompanied by fully vaccinated parents or guardians are also exempt from the requirement for a PCR test before departure. At the same time, the requirement for travel insurance has been abolished in the country.

Belgium

Dock-like entry requirements are back in Belgium. From May 23, absolutely all restrictions have been lifted: vaccination certificates, PCR tests, questionnaires, or “good reasons” for a visit. Since the same date, the mask regime has been canceled, except for medical institutions and pharmacies. Tourists now only need a passport and a Schengen visa.

Oman

Since May 22, the country has allowed entry for all tourists, regardless of vaccination status. Arrivals no longer need to register on the eMushrif portal or take a PCR test before or upon arrival, as was previously required. In addition, the authorities have abolished all quarantine requirements. Inside the country, the mask regime and social distance requirements have been canceled, and all restrictions on the occupancy of public places, including mosques and places of religious festivities, have also been lifted.
