The incident took place at the Boston airport. On February 27 at 19:00, the pilot of the Learjet 60 took off without permission. The mistake almost led to a collision with a JetBlue airliner on an intersecting runway.
A preliminary analysis of the incident showed that the planes were at a distance of just over 100 meters from each other.
“The Learjet 60 liner was preparing to take off, but its pilot violated the dispatcher’s instructions and took off ahead of time. The commander of the JetBlue aircraft, who was landing at that time, was able to dodge in time, having received the appropriate instructions,” the message says.
