Tourists were informed about the sharp increase in the price of transport in Turkey

A sharp price increase in Turkey marked a popular mode of transport. It is a ferry that takes tourists and locals across the Marmara Sea to Istanbul. A tourist reported the details in his blog.

“The price of the ferry from Bursa to Istanbul has risen sharply. Just a few weeks ago, we paid 89 lire (about 175 hryvnias) for each person one way. Today, the price is already 110 lira (220 hryvnias),” the traveler complained. The price for a 1.5-2 hour trip has increased by more than 20%.

However, the updated cost remains very affordable, the blogger noted. “Imagine where and on what you can go for such money from your city? In general, the price tag is definitely humane. Still, the real availability of movement between cities is very cool,” he noted.

Also for comparison: you can get to Istanbul from Bursa, a province in the northwest of Turkey, in other ways. For example, take a taxi. The trip will take 2.5-3 hours but will cost 5-6 times more. A bus is also suitable for tourists: it will be cheaper for tourists to buy such a ticket to Istanbul than to go by ferry, but you will have to spend 3-4 hours on the road, and if the transport gets stuck in a traffic jam, then all 5 hours.
