The US Coast Guard raised the wreckage of the Titan with the human remains of five people

The epic search for the Titan bathyscaphe has come to a sad end: The US Coast Guard said it recovered the wreckage of the submarine, including the “presumably human remains” of five people who were aboard. As the “California” publication writes, doctors and special services will analyze “probable human remains that were carefully extracted from the wreckage at the scene.” Experts also hope that the debris will shed light on the cause of the disaster.

“The evidence will provide investigators in various international jurisdictions with important information about the cause of this tragedy,” commented Jason Neubauer, chairman of the Maritime Board of Investigation (MBI). According to him, the remains will be analyzed, which may provide “important elements for understanding the causes of this tragedy.” “A significant amount of work needs to be done to understand the factors that led to the catastrophic death of the tourist submersible “Titan” and help ensure that such a tragedy does not happen again,” the expert emphasized.

We will remind you that on board the bathyscaphe there were the British extreme billionaire Hamish Harding, as well as the Pakistani-British billionaire Shahzada Daoud and his son Suleiman, the executive director of the Stockton Rush company, which is responsible for the ship, went with them; and underwater explorer, French citizen Paul-Henri Narjeolet.

The bathyscaphe lost contact with the surface one hour and 45 minutes after a two-hour descent to the crash site, and eight hours after the loss of contact the vessel was reported missing and a search was launched.

As a result, the wreckage of the submarine “Titan” was raised and brought to the port of St. John in Newfoundland, Canada, by the ship Horizon Arctic. At this point, the US authorities assured that there was a “catastrophic death of the pressure chamber” and the underwater tourists died at the same time – most likely it happened 1 hour and 47 minutes after the start of the descent, when communication with the underwater vehicle was lost. The first hypothesis voiced is as follows: the ship, judging by the remains found, exploded due to loss of pressure. The US Coast Guard also noted that an explosion was recorded near the Titanic’s crash site.
