As of July 1, foreign tourists traveling to Thailand will no longer need to purchase a Thailand Pass and $10,000 health insurance. Previously, this was a requirement.
The Thailand Pass became optional for Thai citizens from June 1 but remained mandatory for foreign citizens. And finally, on July 1, the authorities abolish all this red tape.
Anyone who plans to travel to Thailand will still need to present, either printed or digitally, a copy of their vaccination certificate or a negative coronavirus test was taken within the last 72 hours.
According to the update, random entry checks can be carried out at Thailand’s international airports or land border checkpoints in 22 out of 77 provinces. Those deemed unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated, along with those unable to provide evidence of a negative test before arrival, will have to undergo a mandatory antigen test and wait for the results.
Today, all 77 provinces of Thailand are “green” areas. This means that normal activities are now allowed throughout Thailand and there are no more restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. True, all visitors and residents are still required to follow basic hygiene rules for their safety, as well as for the peace of others.
Now, by opening all borders and allowing international tourism, Thailand is about to move to the next level of security. The Thai government will announce new guidelines very soon for its population and naturally for foreign travelers.
