According to the publication Kathimerini, as a result of a severe storm that hit the Greek island of Crete, one person was killed, and several people were injured and missing.
In some areas of the island, rivers overflowed their banks and flooded roads. Many cars were swept out to sea.
Houses and public buildings were flooded in the tourist city of Chania. In the city of Sitia, tourists and a security guard were blocked in the local Archaeological Museum.
Suspended the work of the airport “Nikos Kazantzakis”, located 5 km from Heraklion. It is not yet known when flights will resume.
