Helsingin Sanomat writes that a Finnish airline stewardess will receive payment for unjustified dismissal.
According to the source, the flight attendant was fired for using Wi-Fi on board the plane. The fact is that the network was intended for customers, but the employee, as the company reported, repeatedly violated the usage policy. She connected to the working Internet 19 times, providing passenger information at the entrance.
The flight attendant considered the dismissal unfair, so she filed a lawsuit against the carrier. The court sided with the employee and ordered the company to pay compensation for 21 thousand euros.
After this incident, Finnair decided to open an investigation against 123 employees, then fired 22 of them, and also warned the rest of the consequences. The 22 employees who were laid off used the on-board Internet connection more than 36 times. Moreover, as it turned out, more than 700 airline workers were connected to the client Wi-Fi.
