The engine of a United Airlines plane with passengers on board caught fire mid-flight

As reported by ABC13 Houston, the engine of a United Airlines Boeing plane with 167 passengers on board caught fire mid-flight.

The airliner was flying from Houston to Fort Myers (USA) on March 4. The fire occurred about half an hour after takeoff.

Flames began to escape from the engine, and passengers heard the sound of an explosion. Panic began in the cabin, people were screaming and crying.

It is clarified that the aircraft interrupted its flight and made an emergency landing at Houston Airport. A few hours later, the carrier sent passengers to Fort Myers on another plane.
