The Cypriot authorities have updated the entry rules, as well as the rules of sanitary safety in the country. The regulations come into force on March 1 this year, according to In Cyprus.
The entry rules applicable to those entering will, as now, depend on the epidemiological situation in the country of permanent residence. All states will be divided into three categories: green, red and gray.
In addition, fully vaccinated travelers, as well as those who have had coronavirus, will be exempted from mandatory testing and quarantine at their own expense. This rule will apply regardless of the country of permanent residence.
Travelers from Green List countries without confirmed vaccination must present a negative PCR test taken no earlier than 72 hours before departure or a rapid antigen test taken up to 24 hours before departure.
Passengers from the “Red List” countries without a vaccination certificate will still be required to take two PCR tests: before departure and upon arrival at their own expense.
Those with only two shots of the COVID vaccine will be allowed to enter Cyprus if the second dose has been given within the last nine months. Children under 18 are exempt from testing and self-isolation if they are also fully vaccinated.
The certificate of recovery is valid for 180 days from the date of the first positive test.
In addition, according to the new rules, which come into force on Monday, January 24, the isolation period for those who have been in contact with an infected coronavirus has been reduced from 14 to 10 days. Also, isolation can be canceled by providing a negative PCR test on the seventh day.
