Against the background of geopolitical upheavals in the resorts of Thailand, the ruble is no longer accepted. In connection with this innovation, the Russian tourist urged her compatriots not to take the national currency with them to Thailand. She spoke about the abrupt changes that may shock Russian travelers on the Yandex.Zen service channel.
Due to the instability of the currency, the ruble-baht pair “jumped” not in favor of Russian tourists. “Today the rate in the most profitable exchanger in Pattaya this morning was 0.25. This means that for 100 rubles (35 hryvnias) they would give 25 baht (23 hryvnias), ”the blogger explained.
We will add that on the morning of February 27 the official exchange rate was adjusted: for one Russian ruble it was possible to receive 0.39 baht. However, in Thai exchange offices, this condition would probably not help, because by noon on the same day, February 26, the exchangers changed their minds and stopped buying rubles at all.
As for bank cards, there was also a problem with them. According to the Russian woman, who has lived in the kingdom for about 15 years, “you should not count on bank cards, because they may not work abroad.”
Travelers remembered the old days, when it was really profitable to rest and live in Thailand – then the course was to each other, that is, one Russian ruble was equal to one Thai baht. Then the situation changed and to understand the price in rubles, it was necessary to multiply all Thai prices by two. “Then everyone started whining and complaining that the nightmare was expensive. So then everything was fine, “the author wrote and gave an example of the current price of goods familiar to Russians. Thus, a portion of the popular Thai soup Tom-yam will cost tourists 150 baht, ie 600 rubles, a bottle of local beer with a volume of 620 ml – 60 baht (240 rubles), a bottle of whiskey 0.7 l – 300 baht (1200 rubles).
In addition, the blogger recommended that Russians who own Thai real estate sell it immediately. “Oh, well, Thai real estate must be sold urgently. For a shack in Pattaya, if you sell for 1 million baht in Russia, you will get as much as 4 million rubles, ”the tourist summed up.
Earlier, the DIP wrote that “Turkey may be completely closed to Russian tourists along with the straits.”
