A woman on an American Airlines flight between Phoenix and Honolulu, Hawaii, was fined nearly $39,000 for interfering with the crew, AviationSource News reports.
A Hawaii woman has reportedly been banned from flying commercial aircraft without prior approval for three years.
She was also assessed a fine of $38,952 by the airline to compensate for the additional costs associated with the delay due to her actions.
“During the flight, Farris used profane language and made threats to the crew and passengers on board. As a result of her behavior, the crew was unable to continue to perform their duties. The captain ultimately decided to return the aircraft to Phoenix,” the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona said in a statement.
