As UPI reports, in New Zealand, the departure of a plane was delayed due to a penguin that ended up on the runway.
The airliner with passengers was preparing to take off when the pilots saw a penguin standing in the way. The crew passed on the information to dispatchers, who called emergency services, who caught the bird and took it to veterinarians.
It turned out that the path of the plane was blocked by a penguin chick, he was only about six weeks old. At the moment, the bird has been transferred to the zoo, where it will be under the supervision of specialists until it develops moisture-resistant plumage.
