Paris announces when Notre Dame will open to visitors

French authorities plan to open Notre Dame Cathedral for worship and visits in 2024. This was stated by the Minister of Culture of France, Rima Abdul-Malak, in an interview with Agence France-Presse.

According to her, the restoration work is progressing rapidly in accordance with the schedule. They began in the winter of this year, immediately after the measures to strengthen and ensure the safety of the cathedral were completed.

Recall that a large-scale fire in Notre Dame Cathedral occurred on April 15, 2019. The fire destroyed the spire, a unique 800-year-old oak-beam wooden roof frame. At the same time, the structure of Notre Dame and its main relics have been preserved. French President Emmanuel Macron then said that the cathedral should be restored by 2024.
