The easing of the restriction, which took effect on February 1, was adopted to facilitate the travel process: officials concluded that the bans did not help prevent the spread of the omicron strain.
In addition to easing to cross international borders, the Norwegian government is gradually lifting bans previously imposed in the fight against coronavirus, and within the country. Basic sanitary precautions will remain in force: the mask regime and social distance. Authorities intend to finally lift national restrictions by February 17.
