The HappyOrNot company named the day of the week and the time of departure when the flight for tourists has the least problems. The company owns the emoji feedback terminals that can be found in many airports around the world, and it is based on the data that the research was conducted. It analyzed more than seven million customer feedback data points from airports in more than 30 countries around the world.
As a result, it turned out that the best day of the week for flights is Wednesday, it received the most positive reviews, and the worst is Sunday. “While Wednesday received 83.7% positive customer feedback, Sunday received only 79.9% positive customer feedback,” the researchers note.
An even more interesting result showed the best time for the flight. Oddly enough, passengers on flights departing at 4 a.m. had the most optimistic outlook on life, with 85.2% of positive customer reviews. And the most irritated tourists are in the evening, flights at 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., both of which received 76.4% of positive customer reviews. Earlier, by the way, morning flights were also “lucky”, but later – in a previous study, 7 and 8 in the morning received particularly high ratings from customer reviews: 84.8% and 84.4%, respectively.
Another interesting detail of the study was that with the help of the terminals, the company also investigated how pleasant it is for a tourist to be in a specific area of the airport. At the same time, the terminals are located in five different places in the airport: the security service, the arrival area, check-in, toilets, and the baggage claim area.
It turned out that tourists are the most nervous when receiving their luggage: the baggage claim area was the most unpleasant, where the largest number of negative reviews was registered. And surprisingly, the security screening area was the happiest with the fewest negative reviews.
