In recent years, many popular tourist destinations have suffered from over-tourism, one of the most annoying signs of which is the huge queues at the entrance to the main attractions.
Travel portal hawaiianislands.com analyzed more than 10 million reviews left by Tripadvisor users for the 100 most popular tourist locations around the world to find out where tourists most often complained about long lines.
The Eiffel Tower in Paris topped the rating – about it, the characteristic “long queue” was mentioned 4,799 times. Second place went to the London Eye observation wheel in the capital of Great Britain (4,756 mentions), and the third place went to the Coliseum in Rome (4,262 mentions). In total, eight tourist locations in Europe appeared in the top 10.
The Empire State Building skyscraper in New York was recognized as the most crowded location in the USA (2,842 mentions). In total, six locations in New York appeared in the rating, which thus became the city with the longest queues in the USA.
